Job summary

Texas Health Fort Worth, a Magnet and Level I Trauma Center, seeks an RN for the Med Surg General Surgical Dept. Full-time, 7p-7a with rotating weekends/holidays. Self-scheduling and strong leadership support promote work-life balance and growth opportunities on a 36-bed unit.

The role emphasizes comprehensive post-op care, including GI, abdominal, plastics wound care, ostomy and drain management. BSN preferred; Texas licensure required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing on hire.
• RN licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing.
• BCLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• CPI training within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year experience as an RN or completion of an RN Residency.
• 2+ years med surg experience in acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for info.
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and during transfers.

Work hours : Full Time 7p-7a - Rotating Weekends/Holidays

Here’s What You Need

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required
• BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required
• BCLS - prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 90 days of hire
• 1-year experience as a registered nurse or the completion of an RN Residency program
• 2+ years med surg experience as an RN in acute care setting preferred.
