Summary

Under minimal supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned based on matching the patients’ needs with the nurse’s competencies. Completes established competencies within the designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred Education

Minimum Experience

• None for Med/Surg and Behavioral Health
• 1 year in acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis

Preferred Experience

• 2 years in acute care for Med/Surg
• 2 years in psychiatric facility for Behavioral Health
• 2 years in acute/chronic dialysis for Dialysis

Required Certifications/Licensure

Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse. For RN in Behavioral Health: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into department.

Preferred Certifications/Licensure

Required Courses/Completions

• Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (ARC or AHA) on hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention for Behavioral Health within 60 days of hire or transfer into role.
