Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a registered nurse for the Flex Unit. The role involves day shift coverage on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, in a dynamic overflow unit with curtained spaces and evolving patient flow.

The nurse will deliver age-specific care, perform the nursing process, communicate effectively with the team, and contribute to safe patient transitions as the unit opens and closes. Compliance with PHI and UH policies is required.

A Brief Overview

This position is for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday day shift 7am-730pm.

The Flex Unit serves as an overflow unit and consists of curtained patient spaces with half walls rather than traditional private rooms. Nurses working on this unit will need to be comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where patient volume and operational needs can change quickly. At times, the team will be responsible for opening the unit and admitting patients, while at other times they will be preparing patients for transfer as the unit transitions toward closure.

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.
