Registered Nurse- Med Surg (Evenings + Nights)

Position Details

Department: MedSurg + Cardiac Telemetry

Schedule: 32 or 36 Hours, Evenings/Nights (3p-11p, 7p-7a, 11p-7a)

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse provides care tailored to the needs of patients across all age groups, from infants to the elderly, including those with impairments such as hearing or sight deficits, substance abuse issues, language barriers, or who are potential victims of abuse. The nurse integrates our commitment to patient rights, and our mission, vision, and values into nursing practice.

The nurse assumes full responsibility for the quality of care provided, including health maintenance, education, counseling, collaborative planning, and ensuring patient dignity, comfort, and optimal functioning. Delegation to other healthcare personnel is permitted within the scope of their training, with the delegating nurse bearing ultimate responsibility for patient outcomes.

Essential skills include excellent assessment, clinical, organizational, and computer skills, along with charge capabilities. The nurse must be physically capable of lifting and transferring patients, and proficient in verbal and written communication in English. Mathematical skills are necessary to perform treatment protocols.

Requirements
  • Education: Nursing Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred); ability to obtain BSN within 4 years required.
  • License/Certifications: Current RN MA license + BLS required. ACLS certification required for Telemetry units.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of acute Med/Surg experience preferred in a hospital setting.
  • Knowledge: Strong assessment, clinical, organizational, and charge capabilities.
