Job summary

Novant Health is seeking an RN for the Medicine II Innovation Unit at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. This full-time day shift role offers a 36-hour work week, a 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM schedule, and a weekend/holiday rotation with no on-call requirement.

You will care for a diverse medical-surgical patient population and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to improve nursing workflows.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; RN licensure required.
• One year relevant nursing experience preferred.

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse medical-surgical patient population.
• Assess, plan, coordinate, and deliver individualized nursing care.

Department: General Medical Surgical Innovation Unit (Med/Surg II)

Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other or every third weekend rotation, plus holiday rotation requirements

What You’ll Do

As an RN on Medicine II, you’ll provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with a variety of medical needs, giving you the opportunity to strengthen your assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision‑making skills.

• Assess, plan, coordinate, and deliver individualized nursing care


• Care for a diverse medical-surgical population with a broad range of diagnoses


• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and the interdisciplinary team to support safe, high-quality outcomes


• Use innovative technology and clinical tools designed to enhance patient care and nursing workflows


• Educate and support patients and families throughout their hospital stay


• Participate in rotating weekends and holidays with no on-call requirement

What We’re Looking For

• Education:4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
  
  
  
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
