Part Time, Days

Job Description

1. Assure quality nursing care for patients by following physician’s orders, state and federal regulations, and facility policies and procedures.
2. Administer all medications (oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intravenous) as ordered by the MD and according to facility policies.
3. Lead, guide, and supervise nursing assistants and orderlies.
4. Assist physicians with rounds as needed.
5. Drape, remain with, and care for patients during MD rounds, physical examinations, and treatments as necessary.
6. Perform scheduled treatments during shift and document appropriately. Maintain infection control measures as necessary.
7. Adhere to all regulations pertaining to cleanliness, infection control, and Standard/Universal Precautions.
8. Assist with research related to the quality of nursing care, as assigned.
9. Assist with records, orders, and assessment of new admissions. Help schedule patients' annual physicals with attending physicians and ensure timely completion of physicals and documentation.

Job Requirements

1. Registered Nurse, graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
2. Current, valid license from North Carolina Board of Nursing and proof of renewal every other year.
3. Provide quality nursing care, follow doctor’s orders, and have a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
4. CPR certification renewed yearly.
5. Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
6. Ability to supervise nursing assistants ensuring work is completed appropriately and timely.
7. Dependable, flexible, and cooperative with all staff, patients, families, and physicians, demonstrating patience and tact.
8. Ability to make sound nursing decisions, understanding the serious consequences errors can have.
