Job summary

Saint Vincent Hospital seeks a nurse leader to support the Chief Nursing Officer in all nursing and patient care functions. You will assist in planning, coordinating, and evaluating nursing practice and assume 24/7 responsibility for assigned areas.

The role focuses on ensuring high-quality, safe nursing care, staff competency, and efficient resource management within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Active and current RN license in the state of residence/practice.
• Demonstrated leadership and hospital operations ability.
• Ability to serve as role model for nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and support to the CNO for all nursing and patient care functions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This role provides leadership and support to the senior executive position (CNO) responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization. The role will assume responsibility for assisting in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice on a unit level. Role assumes 24/7 responsibility of manager’s assigned areas. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Active and current registered nurse license in the state of residence/practice.
• Has highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, proven leadership ability and hospital operational ability,
• and ability to serve as role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing.
• Provides leadership and support to the senior executive position (CNO) responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization
• Performs related duties as required

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Required
• Minimum Education: Academic degree in nursing.
• Minimum Experience: 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related position.
• PreferredEducation: Bachelor's or master's degree.
