How you make a difference

The Nursing Manager is responsible for the direct clinical and administrative oversight of the assigned unit(s). This position provides supervision of nursing staff for the nursing process that assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive nursing care plan. The role participates in staff development and performance improvement activities as assigned and initiates, participates, and fosters interdisciplinary teams to facilitate the best patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise nursing care delivery on assigned units, ensuring proper documentation and a therapeutic environment.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, human resources, and materials, collaborating with other departments and maintaining effective communication.
  • Provide direct supervision, motive staff, address conflicts, and conduct unit staff meetings with training.
  • Evaluate staff performance, generate healthcare‑related reports, and collect data for analysis and action plans.
  • Ensure safety, engage in professional development, provide individualized care, foster teamwork, and contribute to positive change while maintaining clear and timely reporting.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of three years experience as a staff Registered Nurse in a psychiatric setting is required.
  • An additional two to three years’ leadership experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Must hold a current License as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
  • Specialty certification preferred.
  • Must be CPR certified at the time of commencing employment.
