This employee oversees the day-to-day operations of the correctional clinic, supervising all nursing staff, including Registered Professional Nurses. The role involves providing direct patient care and ensuring all patients receive appropriate health care. The employee oversees healthcare in the facility's general population and segregation units, including medical and mental health treatment.

Education

Completion of a degree in nursing or a nursing school educational program accepted for registered nurse licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.

Experience

Two years of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11, or one year equivalent to a Registered Nurse 12, or a Registered Nurse Manager 12.

Alternate Education and Experience

Registered Nurse Manager 13.

Possession of a master's degree in nursing may substitute for one year of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11. Possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing may substitute for six months of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11.

Possession of a Michigan registered nurse license in good standing is required.

Training

New hires and returning employees after more than two years will complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET), either 40 or 80 hours of initial in-person training, depending on their role. Additional online training is also required.
