Job summary

Baptist Downtown seeks a Registered Nurse for the Main OR Team in Jacksonville, FL. This short-term contracted role requires 36-40 hours per week for 12-13 weeks, working closely with surgeons and operating room staff.

The RN will serve as the patient advocate during intra-operative care and ensure accurate documentation and patient safety. You will meet patients in the OR, manage the room, perform counts, position patients, and collaborate with PACU teams to transition care.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years Operating Room Circulating Nursing experience required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with active license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide intra-operative care for patients undergoing surgery.
• Assist physicians and maintain sterile, organized OR environment.
• Position patients, verify information, document care and counts.
• Coordinate with PACU and ancillary staff; advocate for patient safety.

This is a short-term contracted position requiring a commitment of 36-40 hours per week for 12-13 weeks. This is a full-time position.In this role you will work closely with skilled physicians and operating teams. Your day will start with a check-in and patient assignments. Depending on the day's surgery schedule you may work with a singular patient for a complex case, or you may work with multiple patients having shorter procedures. As a circulator you will only ever work with one patient at a time. You will meet your patients in the OR, and you will remain with them for the duration of their procedure and ensure they are appropriately cared for until transferred to PACU care. As a nurse circulator you will be the patient’s primary advocate, responsible for the delivery and documentation of patient care during the intra-operative period. This may include verifying patient information, positioning the patient, managing the room, and initiating counts.As an Internal Traveler Registered Nurse for the Main OR, you will be responsible for:Provide care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition.Embrace and uphold the hospital mission statement.Educate patients and families to their disease process and plan of care.Interact with physicians and other departments within the hospital.Coordinate care provided by ancillary services.Act as the patient advocateParticipate in staff meetings and other unit activities.This position will require call.Experience Requirements:2-3 years Operating Room Circulating Nursing Experience RequiredEducation & Credential Requirements:Basic Life Support (BLS) RequiredAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) RequiredLicensed Registered Nurse RequiredAssociate of Science, NursingThis RN Internal Traveler, Surgical Services position will be located at Baptist Downtown.
