About the NICU Unit

IU Health Saxony Level 2 NICU (Special Care Nursery) is a new 7-bed unit opening in 2025, caring for infants ≥32 weeks' gestation. Our team attends all high-risk deliveries, with pediatricians on-site and 2 RNs staffing 24/7.

Nursing Skills

• Performing assessments, vital sign monitoring, blood draws
• Administering medications, therapies, and nutritional plans
• Assisting with procedures like IV insertions, intubation, surfactant administration
• Collaborating with the NICU team
• Providing comfort to infants and families
• Supporting physicians with procedures
• Using specialized medical equipment
• Formulating and evaluating nursing care plans
• Supporting and educating parents

Shifts Available

Full-Time, Part-Time, Night shifts, and Special Weekend options

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year NICU RN experience

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Additional certifications as required
