Job summary

Heritage Valley Beaver in Beaver, PA is seeking a Graduate Nurse to join the Level 1 Step Down unit on a full-time basis. The role involves three 12-hour shifts per week with day/night rotations and weekend/holiday coverage.

The GN will work under supervision, perform nursing duties as defined by the Nurse Practice Act, and pursue licensing requirements within six months of hire, including BLS and ACLS within the introductory period.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Current Pennsylvania licensure and valid GN temporary permit
• Within 6 months, complete the licensing examination
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) and ACLS within 6 months
• Successfully complete required clearances within 90 days

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care per Nurse Practice Act
• Work under supervision as a GN on the Level 1 Step Down unit
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotation as part of schedule

Description

Department: Level 1 Step Down
Work Hours: Full-time, (3) 12hr shifts per week. Days and nights with weekend and holiday rotation

Provides professional nursing care practicing legal nursing responsibilities as indicated by the Nurse Practice Act. For a Graduate Nurse this will be under the supervision of an experienced registered nurse.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing, current Pennsylvania licensure, other state licensure as required and a valid Pennsylvania temporary practice permit for GN.

Within six months of hire date, the Graduate Nurse must complete the licensing examination.

Basic Cardiac Life Support. ACLS (must obtain within 6-month introductory period).

Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred

Bachelors of Science Degree in nursing. Two years of acute care nursing experience and two years of Telemetry experience. Certification in this specialty area.
