Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, KS is seeking a part-time Lactation Consultant RN to support breastfeeding mothers and newborn care. The role emphasizes compassionate patient interaction, education, and adherence to clinical policies within a hospital setting.

You will collaborate with other consultants, participate in community education, and ensure supplies are maintained. The position requires current RN licensure and lactation knowledge, with Spanish skills a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered nurse with an active license.
• Experience as lactation consultant preferred (1–2 years).
• Ability to triage and plan care based on patient needs.
• Strong teaching and communication skills.
• Experience using interpreter services; Spanish is a plus.

• Participates in community education opportunities regarding breastfeeding, research projects, speaking engagements, and other company committees.
• Keeps supplies clean and orderly according to policy and reports any needed supplies or educational materials to the supervisor.

Work Experience:

• 1+ acute care hospital [Preferred]
• 2+ maternity or newborn experience [Preferred]
