Job summary

Contra Costa County Health Services Department is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) in Martinez and surrounding facilities. The RN will administer IV therapy and prescribed medications, prepare equipment, and assist physicians during procedures.

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• BSN plus six months acute care experience can substitute for one year of required experience.
• One year of full-time RN experience in an acute care setting within the last five years.
• Valid BLS certification; ACLS/NRP/PALS certifications as required by assignment.
• Background investigation/fingerprint may be required prior to start of employment.

Responsibilities

• Follows MD orders to administer intravenous therapy and other prescribed medications.
• Prepares equipment and assists physician during procedures and examinations.
• Assesses patient needs, plans and implements nursing interventions, and documents care.
• Coordinate the care of the patient; discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
• Mentor new and entry-level nurses and provide problem solving and decision making support.
• Participate in quality improvement projects and ongoing learning.
