Schedule: 36 Hours (Nights)

About the Department:

Our Maternal Child Health/Labor & Delivery Department provides comprehensive care across the unit, from antepartum to triage. As a Magnet-recognized organization, our team emphasizes quality improvement and innovative solutions for our diverse patient population.

Position Summary:

As an RN in this department, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. You will be supported by a collaborative nursing organization and will have the opportunity to provide the high-quality care our patients deserve.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver nursing care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and patient education.
  2. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
  3. Coordinate and delegate care activities to interdisciplinary colleagues.
  4. Maintain and update patient records accurately.
  5. Interpret and utilize computerized data and information.
  6. Adhere to BMC's nursing policies and guidelines.
  7. Assist in quality improvement projects as needed.
Job Requirements:
  • Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
  • At least 1 year of RN experience preferred.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • ACLS certification required in certain units.
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred); ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
  • Relevant clinical experience or specialty certification as required.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Fluency in another language is a plus.
