The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. Guides patient and family teaching and supervises other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace. Must respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment. Ensures a safe environment for patients and visitors. Uses the chain of command when necessary to ensure the well-being of newborns and mothers during antepartum and postpartum periods.
