Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Labor and Delivery unit. The role requires an ASN with a BSN preferred and an active Indiana RN license. BLS is required; ALS may be requested depending on unit needs.

The unit handles pregnancy, delivery, and initial postpartum care with 24/7 obstetric coverage. Part-time night shifts are available with every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Must hold an ASN; BSN preferred.
• Must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Active RN license in Indiana or NLC RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA; ALS may be required per unit.
• Experience: minimum 1 year RN experience; new grads considered through pipeline requisition.

Responsibilities

• Circulating in OB procedures in the OB OR.
• Triage of OB patients.
• Managing each phase of pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum process.
• Collaborative work with physicians.

Indiana University Health is looking for passionate, experienced nurses to join our team and collaborate with top medical professionals.

IU North Labor and Delivery consists of 12 Labor and Delivery rooms, 4 antepartum beds, 2 OR suites/triages, and 5 PACU bays. We are a level 3 LDR and see many high‑risk patients. On this unit, we have an anesthesiologist and OB laborist on‑site 24/7. Our patients are with us during their pregnancy, labor and delivery, and through the initial recovery period.

Referral Bonus Eligible

Shifts:

• Part Time; Nightshift; every 3rd weekend, holiday rotation.

Nursing skills gained on this unit:

• Circulating in OB procedures in the OB OR
• Triage of OB patients
• Managing each phase of the pregnancy, delivery, and post‑partum process
• Collaborative work with physicians

Qualifications

• Must hold an Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Must hold an active Registered Nurse license in Indiana or an NLC RN license.
• Must possess Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
