Labor and Delivery Unit

IU Health Saxony Labor and Delivery is a new unit opening in 2025. It will feature a Level 2 LDRP with 4 OB ED beds, 12 LDRP rooms, and 2 OR suites. The unit will staff an anesthesiologist and OB provider 24/7. Our care focuses on obstetrics, with a holistic approach to ensure safe deliveries, positive birth experiences, and comfortable stays.

Nursing Skills Gained

• Circulating in OB procedures in the OR
• Triage of OB patients
• Managing pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum care

Qualifications

• Minimum one year RN experience
• Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA
• Additional certifications may be required based on unit policies
