Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery. First-time travelers are welcome.
• Skills: EPIC Experience, IV Start, and Circulate. Must be able to handle at least 400 births per month, labor inductions, IUFDs, multiple drips (Pitocin, magnesium, insulin), preterm, multiple gestations, preeclampsia, postpartum hemorrhages, and circulate in OR. Must be able to recover C-sections.
• Certifications: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP.
  
  

Job Details

• Patient Ratios: 1:2 with 21 rooms/beds.
• Contract Length: 13 weeks.
• Work Hours: 12-hour night shifts with options for 36 or 48 hours per week. Overtime is billed after 48 hours.
• RTO: Maximum of 7 days.
• Float Requirement: Travelers will float within Women's Services.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is required.
  
  

Patient Diagnoses and Special Procedures

Our unit handles a variety of cases including labor inductions, IUFDs, multiple drips, preterm, multiple gestations, preeclampsia, postpartum hemorrhages, and more. We provide care for patients from 14 weeks in triage to labor and delivery in the same suite. We also offer resuscitation for 22 weeks and above, with three OR rooms and recovery areas.

• Nitrous Oxide (not required)

Unit Systems and Orientation

We utilize PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR systems. Orientation includes EPIC training with two days on the unit and two half-days in the OR.
