Job summary

Medical City Plano is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery to provide goal-directed nursing care, advocate for patients and coordinate care across the continuum. The RN will practice autonomously using evidence-based methods while aligning with the hospital's mission, vision and Nursing Department values.

Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, NRP and AWHONN with respective timelines, along with Texas RN license or compact license.

Qualifications

• BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• AHWONN certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Texas State RN license or compact license required.
• BSN/MSN preferred; graduate of accredited nursing program.
• 1+ year of RN experience with labor and delivery experience required.

• Plan and provide individualized goal-directed nursing care to promote health, safety and rights of patients, families and community.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Registered Staff Nurse is responsible for planning and providing individual goal directed nursing care that promotes, advocates for, and strives to protect the health, safety and rights of the individual, family and community. The nurse possesses knowledge of the principles of growth and development and the particular skills necessary to provide optimum patient care to the population for which he or she is employed. The RN is accountable for their practice and care coordination. The RN is expected to practice autonomously utilizing evidence based practices. The practice of the Registered Nurse will support the mission, vision and values of Medical City Plano and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing.

What qualifications you will need

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
