Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide care for obstetrical patients, including high-risk antepartum and postpartum care.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled cesarean births and outpatient procedures.
• Above average patient handling with ratios of 2:1.

Required Skills / Certs / Exp

• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years to be comfortable working on this unit; 3 years preferred.
• Traveler Experience: Unit accepts 1st Time Travelers with experience in high-volume, similar settings.
• Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes
• Skills: Circulate, Sterile vaginal exam, competent in immediate newborn care
• Certs: BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP

Job Details

• Ratios: 2:1, approx. 20 births/24hrs, 30-40 admits, 40 visits/day, 20 rooms
• Contracts: 13-26 weeks accepted
• Shift: 36 hours, 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15)
• Call Requirement: None
• Float Requirement: As needed for high-risk OB unit
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, minimum 6 per 6-week schedule

Patient diagnoses include obstetrical patients ≥16 weeks, high-risk antepartum and postpartum care, and some under 16 weeks. The unit performs scheduled and unscheduled cesarean births, rescue cervical cerclage, and outpatient procedures.

Special Procedures / Unit Details: Very fast-paced, high acuity, prefers RN with OR circulate experience. Unit systems include PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR. Orientation: 24 hours. Scrubs provided. Interview availability within next 72 hours required.
