Responsibilities

  • Monitor fetal heart tones and maternal vitals.
  • Document and chart patient status and interventions.
  • Document and chart patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
  • Identify safety risks and implement standard precautions to prevent complications.
  • Educate patients and families on birth plans, pain management, and postpartum care.
  • Administer medications and monitor responses per hospital protocols.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and track key performance metrics.
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay current with evidence-based obstetric nursing practices.
  • Mentor and support junior staff to promote professional development and growth.
  • Maintain on-site readiness, equipment, and supply inventories for L&D operations.
  • Participate in pipeline and territory planning to anticipate staffing and demand needs.
