Job summary

Universal Hospital Services Inc. (UHS facility Millwood Hospital) in Arlington, TX is seeking a Staff Nurse (RN) for night shift. The role involves coordinating and evaluating patient care in collaboration with the health care team, with required orientations in Week 1 and Week 2.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience: Psychiatric health-care facility experience preferred (3 years).
• Licensure: Current Texas RN license.
• Additional: CPR certification and CPI training; Service Excellence training before working with patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide care coordination, prescription and evaluation of patient care in collaboration with the health care team.
• Attend hospital and department orientations as required.
• Perform duties associated with night shift RN role and ensure safety on 12-hour shifts.

Millwood’s caring, and multidisciplinary staff has successfully provided inpatient and outpatient mental health and chemical dependency care to children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults since 1971. The hospital is less than 35 minutes from DFW International Airport. The Staff Nurse (R.N.) is a registered professional nurse who prescribes, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with health team members in accordance with the nursing process and the standards of care and practices.

Must be available to attend the Full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1: Monday -Friday (8 AM - 5 PM) ; Week 2: Monday – Wednesday (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM)

Typical Work Hours:

Night Shift

Rotating Weeks - 12 hour shifts

6:45 pm - 7:15 am

Weekends Required (days vary)

Qualifications

Requirements

Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of three (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing.

Additional Requirements: CPR certification and training in appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint before working with patients. Successful completion of CPI training and Service Excellence Training before working with patients. Certifications may be obtained during new hire orientation.
