Rochester Regional Health in Newark, NY is seeking a Registered Nurse - IV in the Surgical Services department at Newark Wayne Hospital. The role develops and implements quality care plans and mentors others on the unit.

Responsibilities include assessments, planning and implementation, evaluation and education, and training new team members. The position requires a BSN, NY RN license, and BLS, with 6 months RN experience; 40 hours per week; day/evening/night shifts.

• Assessment - Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family.
• Planning & Implementation - Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and family.
• Evaluation & Education - Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities.
• Training - Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters.

Job Title: Registered Nurse IV Department: Surgical Services Location: Newark Wayne Hospital Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule: Day/Evening/Night SUMMARY: As a Registered Nurse - IV, your nursing experience and leadership abilities allow you to develop and implement quality care plans for patients, while acting as a mentor to others on the unit.

CLINICAL LADDER LEVEL I-IV

• RN Level II: Minimum 6 months RN experience; AAS in Nursing; completion of Clinical Ladder requirements within 12 months, including 3 activities per pillar (Leadership, Quality, Organizational Contribution), 9 CEUs, and 6 flex items.
• RN Level III: Minimum 1 year RN experience; AAS in Nursing; demonstrated clinical and leadership skills; preceptor and/or charge experience; completion of 4 activities per pillar, 12 CEUs, and 15 flex items.
• RN Level IV: Minimum 1 year experience in the specialty hired into; BS in Nursing required; expanded leadership role (charge, preceptor, mentor); completion of Clinical Ladder requirements within 12 months, including 5 activities per pillar, 15 CEUs, and 20 flex items.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• Registered Nurse License in State of New York.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associates in Human Services or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology or Human Services preferred.
• 1-3 years of healthcare experience in related field preferred.
• Strong communication skills.

PAY RANGE

PAY RANGE: $39.75 - $52.99 CITY: Newark POSTAL CODE: 14513 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
