Prism Vision Group, Pavonia Surgery Center in Union, NJ, seeks a Registered Nurse (Intra Operative / Circulator) for an onsite, non-exempt role. Compensation ranges from $27.98 to $58.11 per hour, depending on experience. The RN will provide skilled perioperative nursing care and coordinate patient care with the surgical team.

Required: Graduate of an Accredited RN program, NJ RN license, and Circulator experience. BLS; ACLS not required. Ophthalmology experience preferred.

• Ensures accurate medical record documentation and timely reporting.
• Uses knowledge of meds, anesthesia meds and related risks during care.
• Communicates goals of care to the care team and acts as patient advocate.

Job description

This non-exempt, onsite role is located at the Pavonia Surgery Center, in Union, NJ, which is part of Prism Vision Group.

Compensation Range: $27.98-$58.11/hr (Dependent on Experience)

The Registered Nurse (Intra Operative / Circulator) provides skilled nursing care using knowledgeable evaluation and assessment techniques in planning for care and treatment of individual patient needs. Utilizes assessment skills, plans for continuity of care, able to individualize patient needs. Understands the importance of patient education and offers goal directed nursing care to patients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitors and assesses the physical status of the patient through personal observation, assessment, and interaction.
• Knowledge of Privacy Practices & Patient Bill of Rights.
• Appropriate patient assessment and evaluation including pertinent medical and surgical history
• Able to identify educational, psychosocial, and cultural needs.
• Knowledge of required pre-operative testing requirements and identification of surgical risks.
• Demonstrates understanding and interpretation of diagnostic measures such as lab tests, radiology exams, and EKG interpretation.
• Identifies patient needs and communicates/shares this information to all involved in patient care.
• Acts as a patient advocate in the coordination of patient care.
• Maintains knowledge regarding medication, medications utilized, anesthesia medication, and/or herbal therapies and associated risks.
• Utilizes professional nursing judgement, takes action to implement the nursing care plan, and resolves identifiable issues before they become a problem/incident/event.
• Provides appropriate and complete pre and post-operative patient assessment, airway management, and patient monitoring.
• Able to complete accurate and timely medical record documentation. Reports and documents information efficiently.
• Utilizes supplies, equipment, and resources to contain cost without compromising delivery of patient care.
• Aware of and able to successfully carry out infection control, and environmental safety practices.
• Communicates a positive and caring attitude toward patients, peers, staff, and all other persons to whom there is contact.
• Seeks guidance, directions, and assistance where/when needed.
• Understands and follows centers policies and procedures.
• Maintains confidentiality of all PHI.
• Knowledgeable regarding all patient care equipment, including use of and cleaning of.
• Knowledgeable regarding supply location.
• Knowledgeable regarding emergency procedures.
• Identifies goals for each individual patient and communicates these goals to others involved in the patients care.
• Other duties as assigned to include inventory/expiration validation/stocking.

Environment: This position is located in an Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Physical Demands: This position requires extensive mobility, walking, and standing. Most of the days work involves pushing, pulling, and lifting patients or equipment. There is a potential exposure to patients with communicable diseases and/or blood borne pathogens.
