Job Description

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care. The RN manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with all team members, including support services. The RN's role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision.

The DMC RN:

1. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers.
2. Delegates, assesses, provides, and evaluates patient care.
3. Provides and delegates patient care activities to team members.
4. Monitors patient progress and prepares patients for discharge.
5. Reports directly to senior unit management and participates in shared decision-making activities.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduation from a school of nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Michigan required.
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
