Job summary

IR Centers in Maryland is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for interventional radiology to assess patients and manage care during procedures with moderate sedation.

You will work with the healthcare team to prepare rooms, explain procedures, maintain HIPAA confidentiality, and support quality patient care through audits and regulatory compliance.

This full-time role requires RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and strong communication, computer, and IV skills to deliver safe, efficient procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with active RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with interventional radiology procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures, ensuring policies are followed.
• Explains procedures to patients, addresses concerns, and preserves HIPAA privacy.
• Supports quality patient care by implementing facility action plans and goals.
• Provides assistance to team members with judgment and problem solving.
• Maintains accurate medical records and conducts regular audits for compliance.
• Keeps facility clean and safe, inspects equipment, and manages supplies.
• Administers moderate sedation during procedures and conducts pre-op/follow-up calls.

Job Type: Full-time, Monday through Friday

As a Registered Nurse (RN) Interventional Radiology, you will be responsible for the assessment of patients, including the development, evaluation, and modification of the plan of care for patients undergoing procedures with moderate sedation. You will provide care to patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards. Patients served include all age groups.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
• Explains procedures to patients, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient confidentiality (HIPAA)
• Supports and drives quality patient care by implementing facility-specific action plans and goals
• Performs tasks with considerable judgment, providing assistance to team members and offering solutions
• Ensures medical records are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulations, performing regular audits
• Maintains the cleanliness and safety of the facility, inspecting equipment, recommending repairs, and managing supplies efficiently
• Assists with hazardous waste disposal and upholds environmental standards
• Attends meetings, collaborates with physicians, and addresses their concerns
• Participates in the development of radiography policies and supports regulatory surveys
• Administers moderate sedation during procedure
• Conducts pre-op and follow-up calls

Qualifications
