Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit - Full Time - Nights 7p-7:30a - Mount Sinai Queens

The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse responsible for providing safe, competent, and high-quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate standards of care and professional practice in collaboration with the healthcare team, adhering to policies and regulations.
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs, responses to care, and apply sound nursing judgment in management decisions.
  • Provide direct, continuous care for a caseload of patients, utilizing the nursing process based on research and standards.
  • Coordinate patient care activities, including teaching, rounding, counseling, discharge planning, and delegation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members about the care plan.
  • Participate in quality improvement, research, and performance activities to enhance patient care.
  • Maintain accountability for nursing practice and safe patient care delivery.
  • Participate in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team and patients for care planning and discharge processes.
  • Perform charge responsibilities as assigned and maintain professional growth.
  • Serve as a role model and preceptor for students and new staff.
  • Support the mission and standards of the institution and department.
  • Contribute to risk management and uphold ethical principles and the Patient Bill of Rights.
  • Promote a respectful environment and encourage lifelong learning and research.
  • Participate in committees, community agencies, and professional organizations.
Qualifications
  • BSN required for new graduates and experienced nurses; exceptions for certain specialized areas with an associate degree or diploma.
  • Current clinical competence and enrollment in a BSN program with graduation within one year of hire.
  • Valid RN license from the DOH/Office of Professions.
  • Current BLS certification from AHA; additional certifications such as NRP, ACLS, PALS as specified.
Compensation

The hourly salary range is $46.91 - $61.39, depending on experience, education, and hospital needs. This does not include bonuses, incentives, or benefits.
