Frontier Behavioral Health seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct inpatient psychiatric care in Spokane. This role runs Saturday/Sunday, 7 PM–7:30 AM, at the Calispel location, with responsibilities spanning nursing assessments, med administration, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Washington state is required.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire; must maintain active status.
• 1–2 years of psychiatric inpatient experience preferred.
• Proficiency with electronic charting and routine office software (EMR, Outlook, Word).

Additionally, completing admissions, discharges and transferring patients are common aspects of the position.SHIFT: Saturday/Sunday - 7PM- 7:30AMLOCATION: Evaluation & Treatment (Calispel location)ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES includes but are not limited to the following:Administer and monitor patient basic care utilizing the nursing process within the RN scope of practice.Medication administration/safety/monitoring.Carry out physicians’ orders as assigned.Demonstrate positive leadership and goal-oriented productivity within scope of practice.Carry out care plan objectives and goals.Assist in delivery of client education.Maintain standards of professional nursing practice in accordance with facility policies and procedures.Comply with all state WACs.Facilitate therapeutic communication with patients, visitors, and co-workers.Complete through, timely incident reports as needed.Respond to a patient needs and concerns and escalate through supervisory chain as indicated.Complete thorough, accurate and complete reporting and documentation of patient’s symptoms, and progress.Effectively utilize customer service and motivational interviewing skills to promote appropriate patient centered care.Demonstrates flexibility in responding to change and in working with diverse groups and individuals.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:REQUIRED:Active RN license in the State of Washington at the time of hire.Active BLS within 90 days of hire and must maintain active BLSPREFERRED:1-2 years' experience in Psychiatric setting.Previous inpatient experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Ability to communicate with individuals of various backgrounds, education levels and socio-economic status.Ability to apply trauma-informed concepts and practices related to patient care.Must have basic computer skills including ability to document in an electronic medical record, use electronic time tracking, use of Outlook, Word and intranet.PHYSICAL, SENSORY & ENVIRONMENTAL:The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
