Registered Nurse - Inpatient Oncology - Per Diem Days

About Brennan 6: Brennan 6 is an oncology unit where patients receive chemotherapy, post-op surgical care, and palliative and hospice care.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver nursing practices based on the latest evidence-based research, policies, and standards to ensure safe, individualized patient care.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with patients, colleagues, and the healthcare team regarding patient status and care plans.
  • Administer medications using advanced bar-scanning and documentation technologies for safety.
  • Document assessments, care plans, interventions, and evaluations electronically at the point of care.
  • Provide patient and family education to promote health, wellness, and disease management.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary discharges to ensure safe transitions and continuity of care.
Qualifications
  • Valid RN license in New Jersey.
  • BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year nursing experience; oncology experience preferred.
  • Willingness to attend training to become chemotherapy competent within 6 months.
  • Chemotherapy/biotherapy course and OCN certification preferred.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Strong adaptability, accountability, teamwork, dedication to education, and a passion for high-quality patient care are essential.
