Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for assisting patients in collaboration with the provider and other members of the healthcare team with all clinical services available at the clinic. Clinical responsibilities include patient intake, documenting medical history, vital signs, preparing and administering injections and vaccinations, EKGs, performing CLIA-waived lab testing, and performing additional medical services within the scope of practice of the RN.

Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Obtains, verifies, and records health history of patients.
  • Gathers pertinent health data through physical assessments and biological samples.
  • Collects specimens using proper technique for laboratory analysis. Performs point of care testing for all testing done in the clinic. Provides patient care as directed by physician or advanced practice clinician, making skilled judgments based on patient presentation and protocols.
  • Documents assessments, interventions, patient/family interactions/responses, medications dispensed/prescribed, and test results in the medical record.
  • Assists other healthcare professionals in performing exams, diagnostic procedures, treatments, and minor surgical procedures.
  • Ensures all patient information is accurately documented in the patient chart for quality reporting and data extraction.
  • Coordinates and manages care of patients seen by the provider, including follow-up and tracking testing and referrals.
  • Stays informed of insurance requirements and guidelines; performs prior authorizations and acts as patient advocate.
  • Monitors patients regularly to promote wellness and health maintenance, including preventative and chronic care.
  • Participates in developing and safely implementing the plan of care with team members.
  • Provides patient education materials and communicates provider instructions to promote wellness.
  • Schedules, coordinates, and communicates referrals to specialists and services ordered by the provider.
