Job summary

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center is seeking an experienced registered nurse to support infusion teams in Leesville, LA and Alexandria, LA. The role focuses on coordinating patient care, administering IV chemotherapies, immunotherapies, and targeted therapies, and ensuring safe central line access.

The ideal candidate will have RN licensure, BLS CPR, and oncology clinic experience; travel between Leesville and Alexandria clinics may be required.

Qualifications

• RN with clinic/oncology nursing experience preferred.
• RN, BLS CPR required; ONS/OCN highly preferred.
• BA and/or OCN certification preferred; ability to cover Alexandria & Leesville clinics as needed.

Responsibilities

• Nursing duties and coordination of patient care.
• Documentation of IV infusions of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies; injections; central line access; dressing changes; therapeutic phlebotomies.
• Patient education, triage, and coordination of care through a multi-disciplinary team.

THIS POSITION SUPPORTS OUR INFUSION TEAMS IN BOTH LEESVILLE, LA AND ALEXSANDRIA, LA.

SCHEDULE

Alexandria Coverage Days: Mondays & Fridays Leesville Coverage Days: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays

SCOPE

Under the general direction of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care. An ideal candidate should be able to assess and prioritize patient needs, have good time management and pay strict attention to details. Must be able to work independently, and work well with others. Activities include patient assessment and documentation of IV infusions of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapies, IM and SC injections, central line access, dressing changes, therapeutic phlebotomies, patient education, patient triage and coordination of care through a multi-disciplinary approach.

EMR QUALIFICATIONS

Registered Nurse, BA and/or OCN Certification preferred. 3 years of nursing experience in a clinic, Oncology nursing experience preferred. RN, BLS CPR required; ONS/OCN highly preferred Oncology clinic and/or infusion operation Ability to cover at both the Alexandria & Leesville clinics as needed required.
