Position Details: 0.03 FTE

The Staff Nurse IHR - MJ role reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Complete nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, teaching, evaluation, and documentation of patient care from admission.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Supervise and maintain professional relationships with unlicensed assistive personnel.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Utilize nursing process for coordinated patient care.
  • Provide holistic, culturally sensitive care involving patients and families.
  • Follow hospital and nursing policies and utilize documentation systems accurately.
  • Apply current technology, competencies, and theory in care delivery.
  • Lead and collaborate effectively with healthcare team members.
  • Evaluate patient status and set appropriate goals.
  • Ensure patient safety and infection control protocols are followed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team using appropriate methods like SBAR.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited school.
  • Bachelor’s or higher nursing degree or signed learning agreement required upon hire.
  • Current Illinois RN license.
  • CPR certification.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 0-2 years of rehabilitation nursing experience.
