Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Experience: General duty nursing preferred but not required.
• Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS), Active RN Mississippi Licensure.
• Special Skills: recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age groups from adolescents to geriatrics, good judgment in delivering patient care; good oral and written communication skills; ability to function in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers patient care using the health care team philosophy practice model.
• Coordinates patient teaching and discharge planning.
• Coordinates activities with ancillary departments.
• Maintains standards of department and the hospital.
• Provides the best possible nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients on the unit.
