Job summary

Desert Care Network’s JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio is seeking a Float Pool RN II to deliver care for complex Emergency and Telemetry patients in a fast-paced environment. You will serve as a clinical resource, mentor staff, and help coordinate staffing and patient assignments.

Qualified candidates will hold a California RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and have ED/Telemetry experience; additional certifications preferred. This per diem role offers day shifts and a flexible arrangement.

Qualifications

• California Registered Nurse License required.
• BLS Provider Certification.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• CEN certification preferred.
• ENPC certification preferred.
• TNCC certification preferred.
• Experience in Emergency Department and Telemetry/Step-Down units.
• Basic EKG course to be completed before end of orientation.

Responsibilities

• Care for complex Emergency and Telemetry patients in ED/Telem/Med-Surg as Float Pool RN II.
• Act as a clinical resource to staff, physicians and families.
• Assist in orientation and training of new staff; serve as preceptor.
• Coordinate daily staffing, patient assignments, and liaise between departments and physicians.
• Participate in department/hospital-wide Performance Improvement activities.

The Float Pool RN II provides care to complex Emergency and Telemetry Department patients and functions as a clinical resource in the Emergency and Telemetry/Med Surge Departments to staff, physicians, and families. The Float Pool RN II may participate in the development of orientation and training of new staff and acts as a preceptor to staff in the Emergency and Telemetry/Med Surge Departments. The Float Pool RN II may assume the position of PCC in the Emergency and Telemetry/Med Surge Departments and is responsible for completion of the daily staffing sheet, patient care assignments, and acting as a liaison between all departments and physicians. The Float Pool RN II serves as a role model to all staff by demonstrating strong critical thinking skills and professional attitude and appearance. The Float Pool RN II uses effective verbal and written skills to communicate with people on all levels, and maintains positive working relationships with patients, families, co-workers, and physicians. The Float Pool RN II participates in departmental or hospital-wide Performance Improvement activities and monitoring as requested.
