Entity/Organization: MUHA (Medical University Hospital Authority/Medical Center)
Hours Per Week: 36 hours, including work on Sat/Sun and one weekday. Additional pay for extra 12-hour weekend shifts.
Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, 7A-7P.
Job Summary/Purpose: Under general supervision, provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients, utilizing nursing principles; ensures safe and effective care; collaborates with healthcare team.
Minimum Training and Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: RN licensure in South Carolina or a compact state; current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross); ACLS required for most hospital areas.
Physical and Mental Requirements: Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors/outdoors, from elevated/confined spaces, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, pinching, grasping, manipulating, reaching, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., maintaining vision and hearing acuity, dealing with stress, working rotating shifts and overtime, and working in a latex-safe environment.
Additional Job Description: Bachelor of Nursing preferred; RN with associate/diploma must enroll in BSN program within 2 years and complete within 4 years; minimum one year RN experience; licensure as above; current BLS certification.
