PASP (Post-Acute Specialty Program) or 5 North is a 22-bed unit that provides an environment for adult patients requiring care beyond the acute phase. PASP has a team of dedicated physicians, RNs, LPNs, Patient Care Technicians, Rehabilitation and Respiratory Therapists, Dietitians, Wound Care and other health care practitioners that provide individualized, around-the-clock patient care. This care team opens a wide variety of doors to learning and working in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary group. We care for a wide-variety of patients with many conditions including wounds, infectious diseases, organ failure, vascular disease, post-surgical complications, multi-system disease, trach/vents and more. The majority of the staff have been employed on this unit for greater than 10 years and consider each other family. We invite you to explore our unit and get to know us as a team.

Job Description

  • Provides independent care to unit specific patient population; serves as clinical resource for others, utilizes and integrates evidence into practice, functions effectively in roles specific to unit (such as arrest team for ICU, triage for ED, etc).
  • Serves as an effective primary coordinating nurse; collaborates with interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care addressing patient/family needs.
  • Serves as clinical resource for others
  • Assists in team development and evaluation of the Relationship-Based Care model; suggests methods for improvement. Participates in collection of data related to Relationship-Based Care outcomes (e.g. hand offs, medication safety, etc).
  • Participates in implementation efforts addressing Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators (NSQI).


Qualifications

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required
  • BSN preferred
  • Up-to-date status on all mandatory training and classes
  • One year nursing experience. Solid knowledge and clinical skills
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years

Compensation:

  • Full-Time, Nights
  • Pay Range: $37-$51.81
  • Other Compensation (if applicable): $15,000 Sign-on Bonus/Shift Differential
