Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Registered Nurse II to provide individualized, goal-directed patient care at the competent level, following the nursing process to ensure safe, effective care.

Under general supervision, you will collaborate with the health care team to achieve results, support families and patients, and participate in ACLS and BLS requirements as part of comprehensive hospital operations at MUHA.

Qualifications

Associate degree in nursing required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
Active RN license in SC or compact state.
ACLS and BLS certifications required, ACLS often required for most units.

Job Summary/Purpose

Minimum Training and Education

Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations

Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) also required for most nursing areas within the hospital.
