Job summary

The University of Miami seeks a registered nurse to assess patients, develop and adjust care plans, and coordinate with physicians and care teams. You will prepare patients for exams, administer medications, and provide compassionate support while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Requirements include BSN, RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and at least 2 years of nursing experience. The role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care in a dynamic academic medical setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor of Science in nursing required.
• CRN preferred.
• Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients and document nursing care plans.
• Report symptoms and changes in patients’ condition and vital signs.
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients’ responses and physician orders.
• Review and report diagnostic tests to assess patient’s condition.
• Consult with physicians and care teams to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Provide compassionate environment and psychosocial support.
• Administer medications and maintain accurate records per policies and orders.
• Communicate plan of care timely to patient, family, and team while complying with HIPAA.
