Job summary

Womens Healthcare Associates, LLC is seeking a skilled RN II to perform clinical triage for our outpatient OB/GYN clinic in Portland. You will handle telephone triage, provide medical advice, and educate patients on OB/GYN topics while prioritizing patient needs.

The role requires Oregon RN licensure and CPR, with preference for OB/GYN or family practice experience. This is a full-time, 40-hour week position with some Saturdays, in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Current Oregon RN license required.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience in OB/GYN, L&D or family practice preferred.
• Knowledge of EMR systems (Epic preferred).

Responsibilities

• Answer telephone calls and triage patients over the phone.
• Prioritize problems and assess acuity; make triage judgments.
• Schedule appointments and manage paperwork; communicate prescriptions.
• Provide emotional support and education on OB/GYN issues.
• Assist patients with referrals to specialists as needed.

Duties include providing timely and effective OB/GYN clinical triage, medical advice, and education to patients.*This is a 40 hr/week position, Monday - Friday. Some Saturdays required.*DUTIESAnswers telephone calls, effectively identifies and prioritizes problems, assesses acuity levels.Makes triage judgments, schedules appointments, faxes and phones in prescriptions and completes necessary paperwork.Returns all patient telephone calls during the same day.Assists patients to schedule appointments with specialists as necessary.Provides emotional and psychological support to patients and/or their guests.Counsels and educates patients over the telephone in OB/GYN issues including preterm labor, labs, diet, exercise, medications, menstrual cycle, breast exams, hormones, perimenopause and menopause.QUALIFICATIONSCurrent Oregon RN license and CPR certification required.Excellent communication skills in person and over the phone.Ability to anticipate and prioritize the patient's needs.Knowledge of contraceptives, hormones and medications compatible with pregnancy.Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment modalities required.Prior experience in OB/GYN, L&D or family practice strongly preferred.Knowledge of medical charting processes and procedures required.
