Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Boston, MA. This role involves delivering exceptional, patient-centered care while managing and coordinating nursing activities in a multi-specialty unit.

Qualified candidates must hold an RN license, possess a minimum of 2 years RN experience in a med/surg setting, and preferred ICU experience. Job description

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our 38-bed (28+10) multi-specialty Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. The multi-specialty aspect of this ICU is especially interesting for experienced ICU nurses who wish to pursue their career in critical care while developing new competencies and enriching their practice.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver nursing care in the ICU unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
  • Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
  • Update and manage patient records
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information
  • Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
Job Requirements
  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • 2 years of RN experience required in a med/surg setting
  • ICU experience preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Fluency in another language a plus
Compensation Range

$39.02- $90.05

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
