Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited Registered Nursing Program required.
  • Current Michigan RN License (or completed by orientation) required.
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
  • Certification in specialty area preferred (CCR N, CRN, CNOR, CEN, etc).
  • Recent hospital experience and/or nursing practice preferred.
  • 2 years RN experience in the requested specialty preferred.
  • Experience with electronic patient documentation system preferred.
  • Experience with cardiac monitors and IV pumps preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate patient-centered care in ICU/TU.
  • Coordinate care to achieve outcomes and educate patients and families.

Each year, more than 2,600 seriously ill or injured patients are admitted to these units where they receive the highest level of care by a skilled multidisciplinary team. The ICU and Telemetry units commonly care for patients presenting with Sepsis, Respiratory Failure, Pneumonia, Heart Failure, Myocardial Infarction and Stroke among other high acuity diagnosis. Our top-rated safety standards and quality techniques ensure immediate intervention for patients with life-threatening conditions. The RN is responsible for the provision and coordination of patient centered care. The RN coordinates care to achieve desired outcomes, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by delegating and working cooperatively and collaboratively with ancillary nursing and other members of the healthcare team in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice and professional nursing performance in the clinical setting. The RN is also accountable to practice in accordance with the Michigan Public Health Code Act 368 of 1978, Article 15 (Health Occupations), Part 172 (Nursing).
