Job summary

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth in Glendale Heights, IL seeks a part-time RN to provide comprehensive patient care in a critical care setting, with 24 hours weekly, 7:00am–7:30pm, rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities include assessments, care plans, medication administration, EMR documentation in Cerner/EPIC, collaboration with the care team, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • RN with an Associate’s degree required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current RN license and BLS required.
  • Experience in critical care and Cerner/EPIC EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.

  • Previous experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record [Preferred]
  • Previous EKG Interpretation Class [Preferred]

Education:
