Job summary

Lane Regional Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse to oversee day-to-day nursing operations and ensure high-quality patient care in accordance with the Nursing Process. The RN may provide direct care or supervise other nursing personnel to support Emergency, ICU, Med-Surg, and Telemetry units.

Qualifications include a Louisiana license or privilege to practice, BLS, ACLS within one year, and PALS within 6 months for certain departments; 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RN must be licensed in Louisiana or have privilege to practice with license in primary state of residence.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS within one year of employment; PALS within 6 months for ER/ICU/Med-Surg/Telemetry Departments.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day functions of assigned personnel to ensure appropriate nursing care.
• Manage patient care using the Nursing Process, directly or by supervising other nursing staff.

Job description

Under the supervision of the Director/House Supervisor and/or Charge Nurse, the RN shall oversee day-today functions of assigned personnel to ensure that appropriate nursing care is provided to each patient in accordance with the assigned employees job description and competencies. The RN is responsible for managing the care of patients by direct caregiving or supervising other nursing personnel utilizing the Nursing Process. The RN may provide direct nursing care using the Nursing Process.

Education and Experience:

• Nursing Diploma, Associates of Science in Nursing, Bachelors of Science in Nursing, or Masters of Science in Nursing
• Licensed in the State of Louisiana or Privilege to Practice with license in primary state of residence.
• One year of clinical nursing experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• ACLS within one year of employment
• PALS within 6 months of orientation for Emergency Room, ICU, Med-Surg/Telemetry departments
