Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICU to provide dedicated care to critical patients in a 4-bed ICU setting within a 30-bed acute care surgical hospital.

Hires will join a diverse team across specialties, operate in a technologically advanced environment, and adhere to Joint Commission and state standards of care. Certification and licensure requirements apply, with ACLS training expected within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current Texas RN License required.
• BLS certification current; ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience in hospital Medical/Surgical or ICU; ICU neuro experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for ICU patients per standards of care and policies.
• Maintain high quality, safe patient care and regulatory compliance.
• Document accurately in the medical record and collaborate with care teams.

Registered Nurse ICU at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth:

• The ICU Nurse has the responsibility to provide all nursing care services for the intensive care patients in a manner suitable to accepted standards of care.
• He/she ensures the highest quality and safe delivery of patient care, maintains compliance with professional nursing, The Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards of care.

Qualifications:

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.

Licensure/Certification

• Current Texas RN License
• Current BLS, must get ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Required Experience

• Minimum two (2) years’ experience as an RN in a hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU Unit
• ICU Neuro experience (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Performs direct patient care within scope of RN practice and according to hospital policies and procedures.
• Responds quickly and appropriately to emergency situations.
• Identifies educational needs, implements and evaluates learning and documents patient / family education.
• Manages acute and chronic pain on all patients but especially post procedure or surgical patients to assist in alleviating suffering and improving healing.
• Delivers medication based upon continual assessment, safety, and evaluation of patient response.
• Responds to Emergency Department patients, when needed.
• Follows all documentation policies. Documents thoroughly, timely, and accurately in the patient’s medical record.
• Serves as a resource RN on the RRT/Code Blue response teams.
• Responsive and willing to help others, pitching in and floating to serve other clients; team members where indicated.
