Registered Nurse, ICU

The successful candidate will:

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document care for critically ill medical and surgical adolescent/adult patients.
• Provide acute care per protocols and assist with special procedures.
• Direct care delivered by patient care partners and other healthcare team members.
• Collaborate with physicians to evaluate patient readiness for changes in care level. Care for med-surg and telemetry patients as needed.
• Recover MAC local patients when PACU is not available.
• Interpret and operate cardiac and other monitors, recognize rhythms/trends, and initiate interventions.
• Care for patients with complex needs, including hemodynamically compromised and mechanically ventilated patients.
• Initiate and maintain complex IV therapies, including thrombolytics, vasoactive medications, central IV, dialysis, and arterial lines.
• Use less invasive life-support modalities such as BiPAP, ETCO2, arterial pressure monitors, and temperature monitors safely.
• Work hours: 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Qualifications:

• Critical Care/Telemetry experience
• Current Illinois RN license
• BLS certification through American Heart Association
• ACLS certification through American Heart Association
• OCN certification within 18 months of hire or 36 CE credits in Oncology every 3-year cycle, with 12 CE credits annually (Surgical Services exempt)
