Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the ICU, including assessment, diagnosis, and planning.
• Coordinate and delegate patient care activities and manage records.
• Assist leadership in quality improvement projects.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our 38-bed (28+10) multi-specialty Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Deliver nursing care in the ICU unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients

· Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families

· Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues

· Update and manage patient records

· Enter and interpret computerized data/information

· Follow guidelines and policies established by BMCHS nursing department

· Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

· 2 years of RN experience required in a med/surg setting

ICU experience preferred

· Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

· Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required

· Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years

· Effective verbal and written communication skills

· Physical ability to meet job responsibilities

· Basic computer proficiency

· Fluency in another language a plus
