Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services seeks a skilled ICU Registered Nurse for Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, TX. This full-time night-shift role demands precision in critical care, rapid decision-making, and compassionate patient support.

• Active state RN license required.
• BLS certified upon hire and maintain.
• ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire; CCRN preferred.
• BSN degree preferred; critical care experience welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care in ICU using nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within scope of practice in the ICU.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of nursing staff.
• Communicate changes in patient condition and treatment plans to physicians.
• Respond quickly to changes in condition and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Maintain standards of care and collaborate with multidisciplinary team.

Full-Time | Nights | 12 - Hour Shifts

The Intensive Care RN (ICU RN) willberesponsible forproviding intensive care to patients with life-threatening conditions. TheICU RNwill haveadvanced skills in critical care settings,makequick decisions, andwill becompassionateto allpatients. An ICU RNmonitorsvital signs, blood oxygen levels, administer IV Fluids, and communicates effectively to the medical team tomodifycare plans accordingly.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU.
• The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients; He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology.
• Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Completion of Critical Care Course preferred. 4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.5. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. 6. Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.7. Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred. 8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
