Job summary

Rochester Regional Health's Canton-Potsdam Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse to join the ICU team. You will perform assessments, care planning, and direct patient care in a patient- and family-centered environment, aligned with licensure and hospital policies.

The role requires 12-hour night shifts with weekend commitment, BLS on hire, NYS RN license, and potential BSN. You will coordinate discharge planning and supervise unlicensed staff while delivering world-class care.

Job Title: Registered Nurse
Department: ICU
Location: Canton-Potsdam Hospital
Hours Per Week: 37.5 scheduled weekly hours
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts with weekend commitment

SUMMARY

The registered nurse provides assessment, care planning and direct delivery of treatment utilizing professional nursing care processes in a patient and family centered manner in accordance with licensure and regulatory scope and standards, and established hospital policies, procedures and protocols.

RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school program
• Current, unrestricted New York State registered professional nursing license
• BLS upon hire, if not AHA must obtain within one week of hire date

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BSN from an accredited nursing school program
• National Certification
• Previous Critical Care Experience
• Previous Med/Surg experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20-50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision‑making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask‑fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

PAY RANGE

• $42.03 - $57.45
• The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
