Job summary

Thompson Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit in Canandaigua, NY, is a modern, patient‑focused unit with a 12-bed ICU designed for advanced monitoring and compassionate care. We offer 12‑hour day/evening/night shifts with weekend and holiday responsibilities per department guidelines, and a starting pay range of $38.00–$50.00 per hour based on experience.

Qualified candidates are NYS-licensed RNs with CPR/BLS, ACLS within a year, and preferably CCRN; BSN is required or expected to be completed within

Qualifications

• NYS licensed registered nurse required.
• Current CPR/BLS required.
• ACLS within one year.
• CCRN preferred.
• BSN required or commitment to complete within 5 years of appointment.
• Certification in clinical specialty or willingness to complete when eligible.
• Evidence of cardiac arrhythmia course or critical care course or within one year of employment.
• Minimum of one year of medical/surgical experience required.
• Cardiac monitoring preferred.
• Able to prioritize and plan for the unexpected.
• Able to delegate tasks appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Prescribing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care provided to patients.
• Provide patient education and coordinate the activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Main Job Function

• Utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
